Free fun – Thursday and Saturday

Parents starting out on six weeks or so without nursery or school have no doubt spent months poring over a calendar, making and re-making arrangements to ensure their little ones are entertained and cared for. For anyone who still has room for a little spontaneity, you may be interested in the Open Days at Poplar Baths Leisure Centre this Thursday 27th and Saturday 29th July 2017, which are to celebrate 1 year since the reopening of this historic building.

We went to an Open Day earlier in the year, so I can tell you it’s a great opportunity to enjoy some free fun.

Last time, part of the beautiful gym was set up for Toddler’s World, with a big bouncy castle and other soft play equipment. We were there at toddler o’clock and had the place pretty much to ourselves.

Older children were having free taster sessions of tennis and table tennis, plus there was a football penalty shoot-out.

The activities and a timetable for Thursday are now available, and include Toddler’s World and Todder Splash session in the pool.

Take a look here. (Saturday’s activities are not yet announced).

I’m forever going on about how great Poplar baths is – the family changing rooms alone make swimming a lot less stressful. A previous post on that subject is here, with all the details you need to make a visit.
